Follow Friday (3)

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hostesd by Parajunkee and Alison can Read! This week's question is PERFECT for me!!

"The New Year is here! - Everyone wants to know your New Years Blogging Resolution! What are you going to try to revise, revamp or redo for 2012 on your blog?"
For starters, I'm going to try to actually get a blog button and a blog banner made up! Good luck to me considering I can't do graphics! I also really want to go through my oldest reviews and edit them a little and I want to make my blog look more professional in general! Another thing I'd love to do is figure out how to request ARCs, because apart from NetGalley, I have no idea how!!

As for a general New Years Blogging Resolution, Amy from Following the Reader and I are going on a BOOK BUYING BAN. We're not sure how long that will last or how well it will go (not very well, considering we're both pretty bad for it) but we have decided to try to read our TBR pile before buying new books! This is going to be difficult....

  1. Haha! This made me chuckle. You know what will happen though. I will be coming up with any excuse today and tomorrow to go and buy books before the new year :P I need a blog button too... I keep forgetting about it! I'm going to have to do FF today too!

  2. Book Buying Bans don't work for me as I live in NYC so there are always authors coming into town. Go to signings and then I buy books. So that's my problem. Old follower. Come visit me as well. I have a giveaway going on right now.

  4. My TBR Mountain is out of control and I have been limiting myself in buying books and doing pretty well thus far. Have a wonderful 2012! 5. You could try out www.cutestblogontheblock.com. They make buttons and banners. In fact, they made my button based off my existing theme.

As for ARCs, The Story Siren has a great article in her "Building a better blog" section on requesting ARCs from the publishers. That's one of the things I'd lje to do for 2012 too.

  8. I so need to do a book buying ban, too!! Great idea... You're a much stronger person than I! I can't control myself, it's like walking into a makeup store and NOT buying lipgloss or nailpolish, it can't not happen!!! I'm doing a TBR Pile challenge to help get my pile down to a reasonable level :)

Thanks for visiting me!! New follower!!

  15. I haven't gotten around to even joining NetGalley -_- That's one of my ARC-related goals. Once I feel confident enough about my blog, that is.

  19. Oh man. Good luck on the book buying ban! I did one last January and like the first week I read Vampire Academy and had to wait all month to get the next books. Went a bit crazy and bought like 7 books as soon as my ban ended. Maybe you'll have more self control than me =P

Also, good luck with your button and banner =) I have trouble with that stuff too -- so I've given up trying lol. Great resolutions!
