Book Blogger Hop #1

I'm bored and I came across The Book Blogger Hop, which is a weekly meme created by Crazy For Books to help fellow bloggers/readers to find new blogs rather than the same ones!! In order to participate and for more information please click the above link :)

This weeks questions is:

"In honor of Banned Books Week, what is your favourite "banned or frequently challenged book?"

I can't choose just one, so here are my three picks :) [Harry Potter being #1 of course]

To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee

This week's theme is really crazy because I got curious about banned books just the other day and was curious as to what books have been banned in Australia. It doesn't look like much has been banned in Australia (according to Wikipedia) apart from books that promote crime and violence. As for the above and those mentioned on the 2009-2011 lists provided on Crazy For Books, I fail to understand how somebody who we don't even know can control what we read or have access to! For more info on banned books, check out the link above :) - I didn't come across that website the other day and it's good! :D

  4. New follower here!

I LOVE the HP series and I hate that they are constantly on Banned Books lists. I can't imagine being a child and not be allowed to read these fantastical books.

Thanks for stopping by my blog :)

  5. Hi. I saw your comment on LC's Adventures in Libraryland and decided to follow you. I remember when I was new to blogging (because it wasn't that long ago - listen to me, trying to sound like an old-timer) and I just want to support you in the way that I can. You've posted a lot of content for just a month's worth of blogging! I look forward to reading your posts.

I hope you enjoy Shiver. It's one of my favourite YA books. It's not action-packed, but I think it's a lovely romance. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it.

  6. LOVE all three of these! HP is pretty much the greatest series ever to grace ink and paper and it's absolutely appalling that it's on a banned list. I mean, the main message is the power of LOVE.

And of course, HUGE fan of THG. Second only to HP in my heart. Read TKAMB back in high school - I think that was the only book the teacher forced us to read that I actually loved :D

  7. I know, I'm obsessed with HP, it's seriously amazing and whoever banned it for "supporting witchcraft and the devil" has obviously never read the books!

I agree with TKAMB! That was the only book I loved that I was forced to read as well!!
