Top 10 Series I Haven't Finished!

Top 10 Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish, and this week's Top 10 theme is, "Finished Series I am yet to Finish".

Now, let me get one thing straight. I am terrible when it comes to finishing series of books... You see, I will read a book, LOVE it and have every intention to continue the series, however the 1-2 year wait between books can make me lose interest or simply forget about the hype I felt in the first place (after reading so many books in between). On the other hand, I might just simply really dislike the first book and don't bother continuing!

At the beginning of the year, I made it a personal goal to read and finish a few of these series because they had finally been completed, but I still haven't caught up with series from my book blogging hiatus!

So here we go :)

1. Matched series by Ally Condie: Now, I'll be honest with this one, although I own the entire series, I thought book 1 was incredibly boring so I *might* finish it and give it another chance one day.

2. Penryn & The End of Days series by Susan Ee: I only just started this series this year and loved it! I'm still yet to read the third book, because I've had so many other things I need to read!

3. Hush Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick: I intended to read Silence back when it was supposed to be the final book in the series, but then Finale was released and by then I just didn't care (let's be honest, I didn't really enjoy the first two anyway)

4. Hereafter series by Tara Hudson: I just found this book so god damn boring and I have no intention of continuing the series!

5. Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi: I tried so hard to like this book! I didn't hate it though and do hope to continue it soon!

6. Anna and the French Kiss series by Stephanie Perkins: It's a series according to Goodreads, okay! I ADORED Anna and Lola, but then Isla was delayed by about 2 years and I forgot about it until recently :( BUT I am purchasing the hardcover in the next few days :)

7. The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare: I'm so sorry, TMI fans, I just found City of Bones SO BORING OMG. I didn't even finish it! I hope to give it another shot one day but considering my TBR pile, a gigantic series to catch up on isn't ideal at the moment

8. The Forsaken series by Lisa M. Stasse: I hated the first book, gave book 2 a chance and hated that one too. This series just isn't my cup of tea

9. The Wolves of Mercy Falls by Maggie Stiefvater: Okay, I read the trilogy and thought I had finished, but alas, apparently not! Last year, I walk into my local bookstore and see ANOTHER installment staring up at me from the shelves and honestly had no idea it even existed. I bought it, just haven't read it yet!

10. Fallen series by Lauren Kate: Hahahah I used to love this series! (it's a guilty pleasure of mine, okay) I read up until the third book, Passion came out but never got around to the final one!

Top 10 Fairytale Retellings I've Read/Want To Read

Top 10 Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish, and this week's Top 10 theme is, "Fairytale Retellings I've Read/Want to Read" :)

I'm aware of how many of these aren't explicitly fairytale retellings, as my picks focus on retellings of stories in general instead :) There are a lot of fairytale retellings I haven't yet read either that I've heard are amazing!

1. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
A retelling of Beauty and the Beast, but with faeries, this book was absolutely wonderful and nothing like I expected. If you haven't already, you should add this to your TBR immediately!!

2. Cinder by Marissa Meyers (and the rest of the Lunar Chronicles)
EVERYBODY has read this take on Cinderella and I've just taken my sweet time. I NEED TO READ THIS. I've heard nothing but good things, and that it'll blow me away, but I still haven't picked it up :(

3. Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige
Now, I actually have this retelling of the Wizard of Oz, waiting on my shelf to be read. It's sitting there so patiently... I am excited for it, but it never makes my top choice when I'm figuring out what book to read next

4. Sisters Red by Jackson Pearce
This is a twist on the tale of Little Red Riding Hood, and it sounds downright intriguing and creepy!

5. Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalters
While seeming like a retelling, this is VERY loosely based on the original tale once you actually read it. Alice in Wonderland is my favourite story EVER and I hated this adaptation of it :( I was expecting the first to be completely badass, like American McGee's Alice. I have the second and third books to read on my shelf, but I probably won't get to them anytime soon

6. Splintered by A.G. Howard
Another retelling of Alice in Wonderland, I REALLY hope this one is better than Alice in Zombieland!

7. Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge
Another retelling of Beauty and the Beast that sounds wonderful

8. The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh
While I haven't read the book that inspired this story, A Thousand and One Nights, I am so incredibly eager to get my hands on this beauty! Also, have you SEEN THE COVER?

9. Fairytales from the Brothers Grimm: A New English Version. Edited by Philip Pullman
This is pretty self explanatory. I've never read the original Grimm Brothers stories, and now there is a shiny new edition available, I'm going to have to give this one a shot.

10. Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson
A take on the tale of Peter Pan, I have heard MANY amazing things about this!

Top 10 Books I Want to Reread

I found this a little difficult - not because I couldn't think of enough, but there are so many I would love to reread (but really shouldn't considering my ever-growing TBR pile)

Oh, and Harry Potter isn't included because I do a reread every year, and have recently just started again haha

Here we go :)

1. Imaginary Girls by Nova Ren Suma - I felt so much emotion and had so much fun reading this, I would love to read it again because while I can't remember details, I remember loving Imaginary Girls. It captivated me.

2. Unearthly series by Cynthia Hand - OH MY GOD. THE EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER RIDE. THE LAUGHS. THE TEARS. Everything about this series makes me want to read it over and over again

3. The Last Vampire series by Christopher Pike - Mr. Pike is a genius. I read each of the 7 books in one day each, and the main protagonist Sita is the biggest badass I've ever read, and I love her

4. Paranormalcy by Kiersten White - This was so much FUN to read! I would love to reread this, and Supernaturally before I start on the final book in the trilogy

5. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins - Another book I had a lot of fun reading! Anna is an amazing protagonist and this was my first YA contemporary novel and it did not disappoint

6. On The Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta - Omggggg, so so so much love for this. It was incredible

7. Fallen series by Lauren Kate - I knowwww I hated the first couple of books, but I own all of them and am yet to read the last one in the series, and I honestly can't remember a lot of what happened and wouldn't mind reading them again (without the high expectations or false hope hahah) before starting Rapture :)

8. Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa - I just have so much love and adoration for this series. There's nothing else to say that wouldn't consist of me fangirling everywhere

9. Fury by Shirley Marr - This book was absolutely wonderful and had me guessing until the final page, this was so refreshing!

10. Storm by Brigid Kemmerer - I read this, adored it (hellloo, hot boys everywhere) and unfortunately never got around to reading the rest of the series :( Now that Sacrifice is out, I'm going to be doing a marathon shortly ;)

Let's be serious though, while there are even more books than this I'd like to reread, my to-read pile is bigger... but one can dream! One day!

Oh wow! What a year it's been! I finally got back into reading hardcore in 2010 and have read heaps of books inbetween then and now! 1. Possum Magic by Mem Fox - I would give this to each of my little sisters as I believe it's a cute book and every Aussie kid should have read it! It's also one of my childhood favourites :)

2. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl - To my little sisters again as Roald Dahl is just amazing!

3. Harry Potter box set (hardcover) by J.K. Rowling - To my stepmum, Kelly, because she obsesses over Harry Potter with me and doesn't mind having in depth discussions comparing the movies to the books with me!

4. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins - To my best friend Hayley (who lives WAY too far away from me :( ) because quite frankly, I think she'd love it and Hayley, you should read more ;) but I love and miss you!

5. Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor - To my mum, because she has started listening to me/my Aunty and is *gasp* starting to read books that AREN'T by Stephen King! Plus, I think she'd really like it, and it's "normal" (aka: not first person)

6. On The Jellicoe Road by Melina Merchatta - To my Aunty Caroline. HOLY WOW. This book is awesome! And it's Australian! You. Must. Read. :)

7. A Shore Thing by Snooki - To Jordon, because it would make you laugh and it'd make me laugh. Also, she is clearly an idiot. Hahaha!

8. Imaginary Girls by Nova Ren Suma - To my Aunty Faith, because it is riveting and creepy and how cool is the author's name? Also, I just discovered you enjoy Young Adult, YAY!

Top 10 (or 6...) books I wish I could read again for the first time

1. Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling - Although I've reread this, reading this for the first time was an amazing feeling and something I'll never forget - corny, I know but shush :)

2. To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee - This is the only book I had to read for school that I loved, I thought it was going to be boring and crap but it ended up surprising me and is one of the best books I've ever read!

3. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl - Come on, this was the awesome of all things awesome as a book loving kid

4. George's Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl - I loved this even more than Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, I swear I read this a million times as a kid

5. The Last Vampire Series by Christopher Pike - Oh, I love you Mr. Pike. I think you are amazing and I would like to take the time to thank the Twilight hype, making vampires popular again so I could be introduced to the most amazing vampire book I've ever read. Ever.

6. Paranormalcy by Kiersten White - I love Ms. White's work, no, scratch that, I'm OBSESSED and I would love to read this book again thinking it was going to be average and okayish then being wrong and thinking it was the best book EVER!

Top 10 books I want to reread

1. Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling - this is for obvious reasons, I've sort of started rereading, but I have to completely start from the beginning again!! 
2. To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee - This was one of the few books I had to read in highschool that I actually enjoyed!
3. The Last Vampire Series by Christopher Pike - I LOVED this series and I really want to review them :)
4. Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare - I haven't read this in soooo long and would love to reread it
5. The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner by Stephanie Meyer - I personally really really enjoyed this novella, I got so incredibly attached to Bree. 
6. Away by Michael Gow - One of my favourite plays ever. My favourite character is Coral. 
7. The Time Traveller's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger - I honestly can't remember this, I just remember I enjoyed it 
8. Paranormalcy by Kiersten White - I just love this book and I want to read about Evie again because she is awesome 
9. Chronicles of Narnia by C.S Lewis - I haven't read this in years 
10. Awakened by PC and Kristin Cast - I want to reread this before I read Destined
